installing procedure of Linux?

Are You in home without internet connection?

Have you no APTonCD with you?

Don’t worry. Please wait a bit and listen my one word please. I think it’s
easier than windows, believe me and follow the instructions.

1.First take all packages of different folders for different softwares copy them
in your directory. Go to your terminal and put the following command:
rabbi@rabbi-desktop:~$ cd /home/rabbi/Desktop/keryx-0.92/projects/xchm/packages/

Note: here “/home/rabbi/Desktop/keryx-0.92/projects/xchm/packages/” was my pc’s
directory where all the packages of software named xchm are stored.
So for install xchm just copy this folder in your own directory and give the
command like this.

2. Then put the following command in your terminal:
sudo dpkg -i –force-depends *.deb

Note: If you don’t like commands no need just copy this command and put it your
terminal.

Then you will be able to install your essential software like xchm.

If you don’t know about Ubuntu softwares no need SUST OSN will provide you a
documentation and divide your softwares with part by part. for example: media
players, programming tools etc.

Note: for .sh or .bin file you just put command after process 1
sh <package name>
like sh jdk…

For any query just contact with sust osn or me,

Are you sure Windows XP/VISTA is the best Operating System?
Are you sure Windows XP/VISTA takes less time to install than Other Operating System in your Computer?
Is it possible to install Windows XP/VISTA in your PC without Protected Key?
Is it possible to run Windows XP/VISTA in your PC without install it?
Have you ever seen Windows XP/VISTA can run from Live CD?
Have you ever seen Windows XP/VISTA can run from Live USB Flash Drive?
Is all the Softwares of Windows XP/VISTA work properly?
Have your PC never infected by VIRUS?

Is it to difficult to remember 3/4 simple commands as a CSE-student???

Compare all the advantages between Windows and LINUX.
Some of the simple advantages of LINUX are here:
(1) You can boot it from live CD, DVD or now your pen drive.
(2) Install from pen drive is much easier and faster than CD and DVD.
(3) VIRUS Protected and you will never effected by VIRUS.
(4) Boot from pen drive makes your PC so faster that it seems like boot from hard disk.
(5) All softwares are available, free and source code is open. You can customize these softwares as your own choice.
(6) All the process never run one at a time except you run the programs for use. i.e, unnecessary processes never run like windows.
(7) Maximum server use LINUX environment.

Please think all these at least one moment, Why you don’t use LINUX. Decision is yours.

Ubuntu 8.10 has been released.Ubuntu has been made available to users as an image for CDs and DVDs to date. But CDs and DVDs are slower, less portable and less convenient than USB sticks. Now, a simple application in Ubuntu will allow users to write Ubuntu to a USB drive, even a modified version of Ubuntu with their data on it, so it can be carried everywhere to plug in and use on any machine.

I have tested it in our PC. It takes less than 25 seconds to boot from live USB flash disk drive and takes only 8-10 minutes to install it in my PC. If you want to do this, just follw these instructions:

(1) First download the iso image of UBUNTU 8.10 from this link bellow:
http://www.ubuntu.com
(2) Download the package UNetbootin - Universal Netboot Installer from this link bellow:
http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
(3) Install it in your PC. It is open for both linux/windows platform.
(4) Here you can see 3 radio button as follows:
a.Distribution
b.Disk Image
c.Custom

select Disk Image from these and browse your iso image of UBUNTU 8.10
From the option of Drive select your USB flash disk drive and press on OK button.
(5) After all these i.e, after finishing it’s task to write iso image in your USB flash disk drive it needs to be reboot to install UBUNTU or boot from live USB flash disk drive.
(6) After reboot your system enter your bios and set your first boot device priority to your USB flash disk drive.
(7) Finally everything is as like as boot ubuntu from live cd if you are familiar with LINUX/UBUNTU.

[Note that Your system needs at least 512 MB ram to boot from USB flash disk drive]
